Halloween Brownies...

So, this week’s blog will be focused on fun Halloween themed brownies. With half term this week, these brownies provide the perfect Halloween twist to make and enjoy. The nice gooey brownie topped with biscuit soil and gummy worms a great bake this Halloween. Halloween is already looking so different this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bake a nice treat.

Ingredients

· 200g chocolate

· 100g unsalted butter

· 240g caster sugar

· 4eggs

· 100g flour

· 30g cocoa powder

· 200g icing sugar

· 100g butter

· Oreos

· Gummy worms

· Edible eyes

For the brownie, start by melting the butter and the chocolate. Once these have been melted in a separate bowl whisk the eggs and sugar together. You can slowly add in the chocolate and butter. Gently fold in the flour and icing sugar to make a nice gooey mixture. At this point you can add some chocolate chunks if you want, I always like to do this. In a tray lined with baking paper add the brownie mix and bake for around 25-30 minutes. If you like it really gooey take it out slightly earlier. Leave the brownie to cool and then its ready to add some Halloween fun.

For the soil, split Oreos and put the crème to one side and keep the biscuits. Crush the biscuits until fine so it represents soil. In order for the soil to stick to the brownies make some buttercream. Beat the butter until light in colour and smooth then gradually add the icing sugar. If its slightly thick add some milk to make it smoother. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and then its ready to go. Once the brownie is cool, smooth the buttercream all over the top of the brownie to the edge. Sprinkle the soil all over the top to cover the brownie. Then stick some worms and eyes on top and you have a nice Halloween brownie.

This is such a simple fun treat to make and you can add any Halloween treats you want. Keeping to the Halloween theme this seems like the perfect time to share these Halloween cakesicles above. I’m already thinking about Christmas bakes and ideas so they’ll be exciting but I loved how these cakesicles came out, especially the mummy one. I hope you have a wonderful week and I’ve got a spooky story about the cake I made this year for Halloween.

Lots of love,

Hannah xx
