Kinder Blondies...

So, this week’s blog is a pretty simple, adaptable recipe everyone should know, Blondies. I was going to put a Christmas twist on these blondies, but my last minute shopping for ingredients inspired me to look at something else. I thought I’d make Kinder blondies with Nutella instead. They were an instant hit with my house and didn’t last long at all. I like making things that you literally bake and they are ready to go, they don’t need any decoration.

For the blondies, I started by melting 170g of butter. Once this was melted I whisked in 225g brown sugar and a little bit of vanilla extract. I added 1 egg to the mix after it was a little cooler. This recipe is honestly so simple, I can understand how people enjoy experimenting with loads of different flavours. I added 200g white chocolate chips and 210g of plain flour. I stirred this all together and it became a really nice thick mixture. Another variation of this recipe would be to add some raspberries, because white chocolate and raspberries is such a classic combo. This mixture was now ready to go in my tin. I lined my tray with baking paper in two sections to create handles on the tin, so the blondies would lift out easily.

I preheated the oven to 160 degrees. I spooned some of the mixture so the bottom of the tin was covered in blondie mix. I then placed Kinder bars along the section of the tin, I used 5 little bars. You can put any sort of chocolate bar you want to try. These worked perfectly for me. I used the remaining mixture and spooned on top, hiding the Kinder bars inside. I smoothed out the top. I wasn’t going to put anything on top, but I couldn’t resist swirling some Nutella on top. I’ve never tried it before but I thought I would see what happens. I put a spoonful of Nutella in each corner and then used a toothpick to swirl it out. I loved how it looked before I put it in the oven. I baked the blondie to 30 minutes because after 20 minutes it was still a little runny in the middle.

Once it was baked I let it cool until I cut it. I was very conscious of it being really runny. Thankfully when I lifted it out of the tin, it was perfect. I normally hate cutting into bakes like this because I’m so careful of trying to get it as even as possible. I don’t think I did a terrible job and was so happy with how the pictures came out. The blondies in the house really didn’t last long at all and were gone the next day. This blog is a little late but I just didn’t have time this week to sit down and write it. So I’m sitting watching the football catching up on my blogs. I hope you enjoy the Christmas tree doughballs that will also be up tonight. I hope you have a lovely week and enjoy this double blog.

Lots of love,

Hannah x
